Gellibrand disability festival - event management

the disability expo welcomed the community to come together to celebrate all abilities at the goods shed in ballarat

Highlights of the project:

Emma was invited to event manage the Gellibrand Ballarat Community Fest - Celebrating All Abilities - a community festival and disability expo at the Ballarat Goods Shed.

The goal of the event was to invite the community to learn more about disability service providers in the area, have fun together and celebrate all abilities.

The festival was an all day event, and secured sponsorship from many organizations including the City of Ballarat and disability organizations.

event video

We created an event video for the festival that captured special moments during the day, as well as community feedback of how they felt about the festival.

Performers and workshops

We organized a variety of workshops including a drumming workshop, singing workshop and crafting table. Activities included an animal farm, jumping castle, fire truck, food truck, raffle prize and live performances

Securing Sponsorship with Various Organizations

We secured sponsorship with the Ballarat City Council, Buninyong Community Bendigo Bank as well as several disability organizations.

Media, PR, VIP’s

We created media releases which were sent out to our local newspaper, TV and radio stations. As a result we were featured in The Courier newspaper and other media including ABC Radio. We had the Mayor attend as well as the local State MP.
