Vicroads - Ballarat GovHub launch events & official opening
Highlights for us:
We were thrilled to hold the first events at the new GovHub building. Inside the building was beautiful, and we were very honoured to be invited to host the opening launch for VICROADS staff and the general public. 5 staff events and one public opening event was organized, each with roughly 50 people in attendance. Highlights were being asked to use only local produce and staff, which we happily complied with, as well as creating an intimate and friendly vibe in the large Sky Cafe area.
Focus on quality local produce and talented local staff/vendors
The brief was to create events that were casual, exciting, intimate and on brand. Local produce and vendors were to be used wherever possible.
The branding colours were used in the balloons and decorations as well as the branded cupcakes from The Little Cupcake local bakery. Local vendors were used including the PA and sound technician (Mystic Entertainmentz), local caterer Saltimbocca, as well as a local coffee machine hire business and barista. Local produce included food from Inglenook Dairy and Grounded Pleasures. Participants received a gift back with a glass coffee keep cup and welcome pack from Vicroads. Local folk musicians were invited to perform during the opening with some acoustic music.
The event was extremely well received by both VicRoads, as well as event attendees, and we fulfilled the brief of created an intimate, welcoming space by using balloons and floral/greenery to soften the large space and create a more intimate area for the event.
Procedures to keep people safe
The event was held in compliance with COVID-19 regulations. We also used various measures to ensure the event was COVID safe, by regularly disinfecting common touch points, spacing out seating at 1.5 m apart and providing disposable bamboo (composable) implements to use for serving and eating the food provided.
